Are you really ready to find your next job? Are you ready to shake hands with your next employer?

Here are 5 secrets:

1. Make looking for a job: your full time job. Get up early each day and attack every source that is available. Get connected with every on-line source and every person that you have ever spoken to. Go get em!!!

2. Cold Call. Believe it or not, most people fear making a cold call to an employer or to anyone. It’s an irrational fear much like public speaking. But why not try and make 25-50 calls per day to everyone you know or don’t know that may have a connection to an open position. What’s the worst that could happen? “Gee, I am sorry I can’t help you.” So what, a little bit of rejection never hurt anyone. Don’t take it personally.

3. Fortune Favors The Bold Go for it. Why not take yourself out of your comfort level and seek a position where your skills may be transferrable? Take a chance on yourself and apply for positions that you never even considered before.

4. Follow up, follow up, follow up! Don’t just email your resume and leave it at that. Chase the job! If you have had a face to face interview, make sure that you keep in touch and don’t worry that you may feel like a pest. The squeeky grease gets the oil.

5. Listen to The Beatles. Enough said.
