Wow! The 3 most important letters! by Bernie Reifkind, CEO Premier Search, Inc.

This past Saturday night my wife and some friends went out to dinner at a family owned Argentine restaurant that we had heard about, though we had never dined there.

When you try a new restaurant, you are taking some risks in that perhaps the food might be average, the service may be lousy and the price might be sky high. We’d heard nice things about this restaurant so we “gave it a shot”.

Was the food great? Yes. Was the service great? Yes. Was the price reasonable? Yes.

During our dinner there was a piano player playing Argentine tango music as well as American music classics. Very delightful indeed. Then, our waiter takes the microphone and starts to sing beautifully along with the pianist. Wow!!! Then another waiter (his brother) comes out and he begins to sing beautifully. Everyone was applauding and having a wonderful time.

Then the waiter’s mother who also had cooked and prepared some of the best desserts that I have ever had, took the microphone and began entertaining us by singing some Argentine (in Spanish) classic songs………..she was amazing!!! Then her husband came over to her and they began to dance the tango!

We felt like we were in some other country or a movie set, it was that amazing. The owners of this restaurant kept us so captivated that no one wanted to leave even though it was getting late. The funny thing is that the restaurant folks were having just as great a time as we were. Fantastic.

On top of having an amazing dinner, I learned that businesses that go beyond the norm to satisfy their customers truly understand the nature of business. When you go beyond and provide the Wow factor, you kill the competition, you get loyal customers and you create the best business plan ever.

Sometimes you need to do the dance!
