Some People Just Have “It”

Why is it that some people just have “it?”

Oh, you know what I am talking about.  People who for whatever reason, know how to market themselves in such a way, that they just magnetize success……..or attention.

They know how to suck the energy from a room, they know how to keep their name in front, politically savvy, they rise to the top.

Or they loom large in our imaginations.  Famous or obscure.

Is it charisma?  Maybe.  Though what is charisma?  Surf over to and type in “charisma” and this is the result:

: a personal magic of leadership arousing special popular loyalty or enthusiasm for a public figure (as a political leader)
: a special magnetic charm or appeal <the charisma of a popular actor>
I’m not so sure that this is a clear enough description because I’m not sure there is a clear definition of charisma.
Though, without a clear definition we can probably agree that certain people through the ages have had charisma.
For example, John F. Kennedy.
Forget about politics for a moment, he had that special “it.”  For the past almost 50 years we still enjoy seeing his pictures, we like hearing his voice, we like his aura.  He had that “it” factor.  Fortune’s favorite.
Employers, is there someone working for you ………with possibly that “it” factor?
If you do, and if you are keen enough to be aware of it, I urge you to think outside the box about this employee.  Are you using this person to his/her fullest potential?
Are you allowing this person the space and permission to express their true talent?  Are you nurturing this natural magic?  Think about it.
We all get so caught up in our busy work lives that sometimes we peg certain people in a certain role without knowing some-one’s true potential.
Some people just have “it.”  It is critical to recognize that this “special something” is a gift and if used wisely that gift can change your business and could possibly change the world.
Do you get it?
